Colombo's one spot for gourmet ingredients, LUXE Colombo is now making a name for pizza too. Known as Ristorante Via Torino, this restaurant whips up some deliciously thin crust pizza, generously tossed in with premium, truly authentic ingredients that are flown all the way from Italy.
We quite enjoyed the Diavola pizza, which is essentially your good ol' Pepperoni pizza, as well as the Cugine - a tasty ensemble of Italian tomatoes, mozzarella, French camembert, Spanish chorizo and extra virgin olive oil.

Need a fiery twist on your ordinary meals? Check out Miris By Islandmom. It's a home-based venture that puts these miris, particularly nai miris, to good use. They take fresh nai miris, turn them into piping hot sauces and jam, and then, deliver them to your front door.
We ordered a jam and two sauces - Chilli Jam, Level Extreme Hot Sauce and Level Dynamite Hot Sauce. My personal favourite out of the three was the Nai Miris Chilli Jam, which was spicy, sweet and sour, with a wonderful salty kick extracted from kunisso. The hot sauces work incredibly well as a dip, marination ingredient, and in cooking.
You can easily reach out to them via their Instagram handle, @naimiris_addict. The product list is saved in the story highlights, so simply send across what you want to order with contact details, address and the preferred payment method (bank transfer/ cash on delivery), and your order will be sorted.
Krèmeux is all about fresh, homemade cream cheese, presented in jars. They've got a variety of flavours, which come in really handy when making cheesecake, a tempting dip, or simply, as a spread on your bread/crackers.
Right now, they've got five flavours - Original, Kaaramiris, Krusty Crab, Garlic & Herb and Chocolate. All of them are available in 125g, 200g and 500g jars. Aside from the amazing flavours, what we most like about them is the fact that they don't use any flavour enhancers, preservatives nor harmful additives in their products.
Krèmeux delivers to locations within Colombo 1 - 15, and its immediate suburbs. But you can also pick up your order from Wellawatte. Simply contact them via Instagram DM to place the orders. They accept cash on delivery and bank transfers.
As the name promises, the Taste of Taprobane brings you a taste of Taprobane, through their super delicious badum (fry) jars. From what we gathered, they use a family recipe, so the taste is very homemade.
We tried three badums - Banana Blossom, Prawns and Sprats, and they all delivered beyond our expectations. The Banana Blossom was packed with bits of Maldivian fish, while the Isso and Haal Masso followed suit. We could taste lots and lots of prawns and sprats in them.
With a shelf life of six months, they come in quite handy as a bon voyage gift. They are a godsend if you want to save some hassle in the kitchen too. More importantly, we highly appreciate how these badums are not oily, nor include any artificial flavours/ preservatives.
To place an order, pop a message to them on Instagram. They're quite active there, so you'll receive the order confirmation fast. The payments can be made via bank transfer. Or, you can place the orders through WhatsApp - 0765321002.
