If you don't like pizza I'm sorry but we can't be friends. Who doesn't love a good slice of happiness? Fresh out of the oven and as close to the authentic pies as it gets, we've compiled a list of the best places you can hit up if you're craving for a satisying pizza experience. Buon appetito!

No. 145, Thimbirigasyaya Road, Colombo 5.

If you love pizza, you definitely should know Giovanni's. By pizza, I mean the authentic kind, not the stuffy bread-type kind. Anyway, they have been our go-to spot for some delicious pizza for as long as we can remember.  Arguably one of the best pizza places in Colombo, Giovanni's is a solid place for your pizza craving.

Caffe Michelangelo
530 Nawala Road, Nawala

Caffe Michaelangelo does thin crust, wood-fired pizza, with a lot of Sri Lankanized toppings on offer. Their delivery game is on par, too.

Dolce Italia
5, Skelton Road, Colombo 05

Dolce Italia is a simple, charming Italian restaurant and bakery on a busy square on Havelock Road. It's run by a few Italians, and is surprisingly affordable.

No. 615 A, Nawala Road, Rajagiriya.

Rocco's has a lovely dine-in restaurant on Nawala Road, around the Rajagiriya side, that serves up really good wood-fired pizza, ravioli, lamb chops and tiramisu. They've got quite an expansive menu, with over 30 pizza toppings to choose from, and their staff is fast and attentive, making for a smooth experience overall.

Il Ponte (Hilton)
2, Sir Chittampalam A Gardiner Mawatha, Colombo 01

Il Ponte at Hilton is one of the older Italian restaurants in Colombo. It may not be as popular as it was back in the day, but their food is still pretty solid all-round, although the setting could use some work.

BreadTalk (Park Street)
No 33, Park Street, Colombo 02

The new BreadTalk on Park Street has a slightly different take than its other local branches. In addition to serving baked or fried goods, they have also introduced salads, sandwiches, pizza and pasta on the menu.

Pranzo (Waters Edge)
316, Polduwa Rd, Ethul Kotte Road, Battaramulla

If you're keen on having some good pizza with an amazing view, Pranzo is the place to be. It's the Italian restaurant at Waters Edge, and apart from the thin-crust pizza, they also serve up a range of pastas, lasagna and even grilled meats on offer.

Honey Beach Club (The Kingsbury Hotel)
The Kingsbury Hotel, Janadhipathi Mawatha, Colombo 01

The pizza menu at Honey Beach Club is pretty interesting. They use fresh, high quality toppings on their pizzas. They're not exactly cheap, but affordable, despite of being a high-end hotel in Colombo.

3Brothers Italian Bistro
180, Park Road, Colombo 05

Occupying the same space that Off The Hook once stood, 3Brothers Italian Bistro whip up some superb pizzas that lean towards the Neapolitan style, and a few other Italian treats using imported, high-quality ingredients. As of now, they serve an interesting range of pizza, pasta and Italian-style starters and desserts. From what we gathered, they're planning to introduce a bunch of new stuff to the menu in the upcoming weeks. The pizzas are made right in front of your eyes using a woodfired, clay oven and they've got shelves full of imported sweets and snacks that one would not usually come across in other candy/snack shops in town.

Caterina Pizzeria
No. 11, Rheinland Place, Colombo 03

Caterina's pizza menu is quite extensive. All the toppings they offer are neatly categorised under the type of meat/non-meat - Pollo (Chicken), Manzo (Beef), Acqua Fresca (Seafood), and Garden Fresh (Veg) etc. There's also a separate section for Sri Lankanised toppings, called Ape Gama. The ambience is also v pleasant, and the toppings they provide are in abundance, and some of the best!

Mama Louie's
49, Skelton Rd, Colombo 05

Mama Louie's have got 15 kinds of toppings that revolve around different meats - chicken, beef, and lamb, along with a couple of lasagne and calzones. In terms of pricing, these pizzas are on par with the other similar pizza joints in town. The most expensive one on the list is priced at Rs. 1980 while the cheapest one is Rs. 1200. A slice of Italy in a leafy retreat, that's what Mama Louie's is. If good pizza with a peace-of-mind smack dab in the middle of this busy town is what you're looking for, Mama Louie's is your safest bet. They've got an interesting array of drinks as well.

502 R A De Mal Mawatha, Colombo 3

Specialising in Italian delicacies, Pastamania is adept at whipping up some pretty relishing pizza as well. They also have an outlet at One Galle Face. With friendly staff and a pleasant ambience at both outlets, Pastamania provides a great experience. However, decked with lots of cheese and quite a bit of meat to go with it, the pizzas can be a tad bland, but that depends on how you like your pizza.

Ignite Pizzeria & Lounge
610D, Negombo Road, Mabole, Wattala

This will certainly Ignite your love for pizza! Their thin-crust pizzas are to die for, and undoubtedly one of the most exciting places in Wattala. Aside from pizza, Ignite does a few starters like salads and soups as well.

S39 Pizzeria
No:39 Shrubbery Garden Rd, Colombo 04

A solid pizza place in Colombo where the prices are much more affordable! They have a variety of Italian food, pizza included, and they do what they do quite well.

Fire & Ice Pizzeria
9A, Glen Aber Place, Colombo 04

Having its origins rooted way back in 1995 in Kathmandu, Fire and Ice Pizzeria now have branches in Kolkata and Colombo as well! Having some of the best thin-crust pizzas in colombo, they also do BYOB; we definitely recommend!

Pizza Napolitana
120 route, Pepiliyana Rd, Boralesgomuwa

Pizza Napolitana is a place dedicated to serving thin-crust pizza, made from a wood-fired, brick oven - all the stuff that makes a pizza lover go “ooh”. Pizza Napolitana offers a number of well-crafted pizzas at a reasonable price. This place is an easy recommend for those of you who crave a good slice or two and have the rest shared with family and friends, or the ones who want to indulge in an entire pie for all by yourself (we don’t judge.).

Grand Slam By Mitsi
Sir Marcus Fernando Road, Colombo 07

Started off as a home-based catering business, Mitsi's has come a very long way. Their newest restaurant, Grand Slam By Mitsi is dedicated to crafting up some brilliant Italian delicacies. It's mainly pizza and pasta, but they also do varieties of sandwiches and burgers. You can also grab a glass of beer, coffee, fruit juices, or mojitos to wash them down. Their pizza is simply relishing and well executed, and we'd definitely recommend.

Brio - The Italian Kitchen
80, Pannipitiya Road, Battaramulla

If you're looking for someplace with a great ambience and pizza, Brio is the place to go to. Although it is slightly pricier, it is worth every cent you spend, and they've got a variety of pizzas.

Next Innings (Dutch Hospital)
Colombo Dutch Hospital, Bank of Ceylon Mawatha, Colombo - Fort

The popular triad - Chef Dharshan Munidasa and the cricketing stars, Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara has teamed up once again for a new venture. Filling the void of Colombo's sports lounges, or lack thereof, this place is called Next Innings, and it resides inside the ever so buzzing Colombo Dutch Hospital. Next Innings does a range of Neapolitan pizza, and they've put all the effort to make it authentic as possible, by using imported ingredients like Caputo flour (from Italy), and cooking them from the world's only leather ball mosaic tiled pizza oven. Exemplary service and great food, what's not to like!

The Kings is The Kingsbury's very own lobby bar. The menu here includes a wide variety - from pizza, sandwiches, grilled goodies to cocktails, coffee and mocktails. The Kings's pizzas are of thin crust, and they come in two sizes - small and large, and they are executed perfectly.

Harpo's Pizza
178/A Stanley Tillakaratne Mw, Nugegoda

Harpo's Pizza does some pretty great pizzas using high quality ingredients. They're not cheap, but the pizzas are authentic and  you get more bang for your buck than most other places.

The Pizza Bakery (One Galle Face)
Sunset Terrace, 1A, 02 Centre Rd, Colombo

The Pizza Bakery is like a gift from our neighbouring country, to all the pizza-loving souls on this tiny island. A branch of the ever so loved pizza restaurant in Indiranagar, The Pizza Bakery is specialised in crafting up Neapolitan style pizza with homemade sourdough bread.

Hi Krishanth, these are our Top Picks. Everything here is rated 4/5 or above, which is why Arthur's isn't there. We didn't have the best experience at their outlets so we gave it a 3. :)
