PR is the fashion extension of Paradise Road on Horton Place. They have a really interesting and local collection of designer wear, which is great if you can afford it.

Owned by the Paradise Road management, PR is a concept store at Horton place offering only designer wear and exclusive pieces of clothing, jewellery, handbags and other home accessories. It's a really interesting store and, if you can afford it, a creative and unique place to shop.

The Clothes

As mentioned the clothes are all designer made and contains only limited articles from each (ie, you won't see that many people wearing the same thing). They have ladies wear (both casual and evening, Rs. 1,950+), menswear (Rs. 6,500+) and also kids wear (Rs. 3,000+).

The most interesting thing about the clothes are the materials. Some were made out of organic cotton, which is a very interesting concept. It's still a fraction of the global cotton market, but uses no fertilizer or pesticides and is generally eco-friendly. Other materials include Italian silk, and the usual comfy cotton and linen that we're used to.

The Other Stuff

They have a lovely collection of jewellery (Rs. 3,000+ though prices may change depending on the brand) designed by Saskia Fernando under Papillon du thé  and also a collection by kinsfolk. They had only a limited number of hand bags (Rs. 8,750+), and clutches, shoes with prices starting from Rs. 4,950+, socks (Rs. 485+), a range of natural Spa products, and other home accessories by Paradise Road.

The Brands

Some of the brands currently at PR include Rajesh Pratap Singh, Abraham & Thakore, Eka, Bodice, Maus, Aish, Touché, Smallshop, Tuktuk, Khogy, Nithya, Friskybox, and some others I don't remember. It's a mix of local and foriegn.

The wares at PR are unique, exclusive, and designer made (including many designers from Colombo Fashion Week). On top of it all it's a concept store. With all those features you can't expect the prices to be cheap, but you can expect the quality and character of the pieces to be high.

Check out the fish skin leather. Pretty cool.
