How It's Made: Spicy Fried Chicken

An easy recipe for a spicy, crispy plate of chicken, made at Korean Barbecue.

The following was made at KBQ (Korean Barbecue), using Korean ingredients. 

Portion: for 2 people


  • Chicken pieces - 4
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Pepper - a pinch
  • Sugar - a pinch
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Chicken stock powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cornflour
  • Flour
  • Chili sauce


  1. Add the water to a shallow bowl
  2. Add pepper, sugar and salt
  3. Add chicken stock powder
  4. Mix and finally add the chicken pieces
  5. Toss the chicken pieces in this
  6. Keep aside for 4-5 minutes to marinate
  7. In a separate shallow bowl mix cornflour with flour for the batter-fry mix
  8. Mix the marinated chicken pieces in the batter-fry mix till completely white
  9. Deep fry in hot oil till the chicken appears to be golden-brown
  10. Toss the batter-fried chicken in chili sauce, and serve with rice
